For a food photography assignment in school, I wanted to challenge myself to create an image that takes a simple food and turn it into something more. Therefore, I went with a simple peanut butter and raspberry jam sandwich as my subject. To accomplish this, I had to composite over 11 photographs to get the final image. Here is a behind the scenes of that image:

First Image

To start out, I had to balance 3 sandwiches on top of a stand and put the fork underneath. I also used skewers to hold the sandwiches in place.

To add the peanuts and raspberries, I held them on skewers and took a photo of each one individually.

Final Image

After some time in Photoshop I was able to combine the photos into one final composite. I am happy with how it turned out and I would like to try a similar concept again someday.
